Administrators have been appointed at car servicing and MoT chain In N Out.
Three sites have closed however 14 more spanning Cardiff to Doncaster remain trading while administrator Moorfields Corporate Recovery in London attempts to find a buyer.
A statement from Moorfields said: "The company has had cashflow difficulties as a result of its failure to raise further funding.
"The directors resolved that administrators be appointed to protect the assets of the Company while its business is advertised for sale on the open market."
Joint administrator Simon Thomas said: "Whilst we have regrettably had to make a number of redundancies on our appointment, we are hopeful of achieving a going concern sale and preserving the remaining jobs."
