A former Doncaster rugby league star is closing one of his two used car showrooms.

Stewart Piper is shutting his Barnby Dun dealership to focus on his smaller Tickhill car sales site.

Piper told the South Yorkshire Star newspaper the closing business has been targeted by vandals every month this year and he no longer wants the stress of it.

Vandals have slashed the roof on soft-top convertibles, car windows have been smashed and alloy wheels stolen.

Piper was well known as a player for Doncaster in the 1970s and 80s.
