Ford’s next-generation Focus Econetic will go on sale in the UK early next year and is expected to be able to achieve 80mpg. 
The new Focus Econetic will be available in five-door and estate body styles and powered by a redesigned 103bhp 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi which emits under 95g/km of carbon dioxide.
The new model will have a unique aerodynamic package with active grille shutter, ultra-low rolling resistance tyres and a revised final drive ratio with a revised six-speed transmission.
Standard Econetic equipment includes Ford Auto-Start-Stop, smart regenerative charging, Ford eco mode and shift indicator light.
