News International looks to launch online used car classified business

The Sun and The Times publisher News International (NI) is believed to be looking to start up an as yet untitled online used car classified business to rival Auto Trader and Motors.co.uk.

NI is looking for a head of product and content to lead a team which will create a “premier car digital destination”.

According to Marketing Week, the new website will mix editorial content with classified ads to become a “market leading” digital used car destination.

NI has declined to comment further on the creation of the new website.

The potential new entrant into the market follows on from news that Manheim has acquired Motors.co.uk, which is the second largest used car classified website in the UK.
