Honda is bringing thrills, freebies and competitions to Westfield Stratford City this week as the East London shopping centre’s first motor show started yesterday and runs through until Sunday 22 April.

Shoppers can mingle round Honda’s range of British-built models including the popular Jazz supermini, CR-V SUV and all-new Civic hatchback, while two wheel fans have the opportunity to take a closer look at the Vision 50 and NC700X motorcycles.

The display includes Honda F1 and S2000 simulators, free of charge to shoppers, and to celebrate the launch of the new Civic, Honda will be treating six winners to a £300 gift card which can be used at any of the 5 Westfield shopping centres across the UK.

As a little extra treat, Honda is giving a free Costa Coffee voucher to all Honda bike and car owners who show their key to staff on the stand.

This free event is the first motor show at any Westfield Centre in the UK and will see the Stratford centre filled with vehicles from eco motors to supercars.

Honda has had a difficult few years and sales stumbled in 2014 with a fall of nearly 4% in a market where many rivals were recording double-digit growth.

Leon Brannan, head of cars in the UK, has said that 2015 will be the first year that sees the impact of renewed R&D investment for Europe.

He has revealed that the goal is to restore the Honda franchise to its former strength – “to fall back in love with ourselves” – with six new models including the new HR-V, the Civic Type-R and the NSX supercar due in 2015.

There is also a determination to "catch up the rest of the market" by migrating the business towards a PCP culture and away from HP and cash purchases, while building demand for long-term service plans to maximise customer retention, part of a plan to become the number one brand in the UK for customer loyalty.
