Leicester-based Sturgess Motor Group has boosted turnover by almost 25% to £81.9 million on the back of increased new and used car sales.

The group posted increased operating profits from £935,000 to £1.1m and pre-tax profits were up from £700,000 to £900,000.

The new and used car departments generated £71.4 million and its service and parts business contributed £10.5m.

The dealer group represents Jaguar, Land Rover, Hyundai, Volvo, Alfa Romeo and Fiat.

The group is “cautiously optimistic that the year ahead will bring further success despite the uncertain and challenging trading climate”.
