Qashqai owners are being rewarded for their loyalty in buying the new model with a cut rate finance offer.

Since the launch of the original Qashqai in 2007 more than 250,000 people have bought a Qashqai and Rachael Gregory, UK product manager, says that they are among Nissan's most loyal customers.

She expects that trend to grow since the new model, on sale from today is cheaper to insure and run than the outgoing model and will have stronger residual values.

In addition, existing Qashqai customers will get an added incentive - a personal purchase rate 1% below that of other customers. At 5.9% APR it means a saving of £10 a month, reducing repayments to £239.

"The fact is we have a very high loyalty and customer retention rate and we believe the new Nissan Qashqai will improve that still further because the new model is an even better proposition than the original," she said, predicting that 60% of Qashqai sales will be to fleet and business users.

Motability is also a key consumer group for Nissan.
