Dealer group TMS has taken on a new brand and plans to relocate one of its two showrooms to bigger premises.

Its moving its Hinckley Volvo operation from Station Road to a larger showroom at Trinity Marina in Coventry Road – and opening a Kia outlet alongside it.

The business also has a Volvo outlet in Coventry.

The new site is the former premises of Trinity Motors, which went out of business two years ago with the loss of 60 jobs.

Refurbishment work on the 22,500 sq ft site will start shortly, with the move planned for April.

TMS says a number of jobs would be created.

The new site will have two showrooms, workshops, a valeting area and parking.

TMS Hinckley managing director Len Hallows said: "The relocation of our Volvo business and the start-up of a Kia dealership represents a significant investment for us.

"It will also give a boost to the economy as we recruit extra staff to accommodate the Volvo move and our expansion with Kia.

"We have been looking to move and expand for a while because our existing premises are needed as part of the bus station development in the centre of Hinckley.

"The Trinity Marina site is perfect for us. We will be able to showcase more than 60 used cars with ample parking for our customers."

Hallows told the Leicester Mercury the Volvo showroom will be one of the first in the UK to showcase a new corporate styling.
