Eco City Vehicles has this morning announced its intention to appoint administrators.

It has posted a statement on the London Stock Exchange saying the board intends to appoint an administrator in order to allow the directors sufficient time to evaluate various options available to secure its future.

Trading of ECV shares was suspended last month when its two subsidiaries, which included a taxi dealership, went into administration. Click here to read that report.

ECV also announced today that its finance director, Jonathan Moritz, will step down from the board on October 10 to pursue other interests.

Moritz was a former Inchcape executive prior to joining ECV.

Eco City Vehicles is the maker and distributor of the licensed Mercedes-Benz Vito Taxi.
