Dealer group TMS is opening two new showrooms in Hinckley.

TMS Hinckley is relocating its Volvo showroom to Trinity Marina, in the town's Coventry Road, and opening a new Kia outlet. The investment is put at more than a million pounds.

The business is expected to complete the move by next Monday.

TMS is being forced off its existing site in Station Road to make way for the Hinckley town centre regeneration scheme which has already seen most of the area torn down for a new 60,000 sq ft Sainsbury's, a five-screen cinema, shops and restaurants, reports the Leicester Mercury.

The 22,500 sq ft site is at Wharf Farm.

The Kia dealership will be the town's first.

The site is the former premises of Trinity Motors, which went out of business three years ago.

TMS managing director Len Hallows told the newspaper: "The relocation of our Volvo business and the start-up of a Kia dealership represents a significant investment for us.

"It will also give a boost to the local economy as we recruit extra staff to accommodate the Volvo move and our expansion with Kia.

"We have been looking to move and expand for a while now as our existing premises are needed as part of the retail developments in the centre of Hinckley.

"The Trinity Marina site is perfect for us as we expand with Volvo and Kia and will be able to showcase over 60 used cars with ample parking for our customers.

TMS marketing manager Bronwen Mackenzie said: "The new development at Trinity Marina will incorporate both Volvo and Kia, and has been a massive investment for TMS, totalling over a million pounds.

"The Volvo dealership is state-of-the-art and will be a flagship branch."
