Keith West has been appointed group fleet general manager of Derbyshire-based motor group Pentagon.

The appointment strengthens the leadership of the company and is an integral part of the business’ growth strategy to increase the size of its fleet sales to 20,000 vehicles in 2015.

In 2013 Pentagon, the trading brand of Reeve (Derby), delivered 12,000 fleet units and, following a strong quarter one performance the business has revised its expected volume for 2014 to 17,000 units.

With over 35 years’ experience in the motor industry, West started his career as a vehicle technician and quickly worked his way up to senior group management positions within Carnell Motor Group, Dixons and more recently Wilson and Co.

West has a thorough knowledge of the fleet industry and has developed strong relationships with many manufacturers including Nissan, Toyota, Vauxhall and Peugeot, said Pentagon.

In this newly created role West will use his skills to strengthen the existing teams and develop a new fleet sales strategy for the company alongside corporate fleet sales manager Dawn Torr.

He will lead the whole fleet operation at the group’s main base in Derbyshire and its new fleet business in Manchester which it acquired following the buyout of Grimshaws Vauxhall in December last year.

Trevor Reeve, chairman of Pentagon Group, said: “As a family owned business we always focus on putting the needs of the customer first. We’re investing in our fleet division and the appointment of Keith is part of a wider plan to make Pentagon the number one volume fleet business in the UK.”

West added: “I’m delighted to be joining Pentagon. There is already a superb team in place and with our combined experience, skills and knowledge I’m sure we’ll waste no time in pushing forward with the company’s growth ambitions and delivering an exceptional service to both existing and new clients of all sizes across the country.”
