The owner of a pub formerly run by TV chef Anthony Worrall Thompson is being investigated in suspicion of running an unlawful car dealership from its car park.

Graham Granaski bought the Lamb in Satwell in April last year and started selling used cars from the forecourt under the name Highland Cars.

South Oxfordshire District Council wrote to him telling him to stop trading and remove all the cars within 28 days as he was in breach of planning control regulations.

Granaski told the Henley Standard newspaper he plans to re-open the pub but needs somewhere to store and sell the cars after selling his old business premsies in order to buy the pub.

He has now submitted a planning application for a temporary change of use of the car park. But villagers have objected, saying a car dealership is inappropriate in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and that there are so many cars outside the pub that the road is blocked.
