Bentley Motors has created 140 new jobs at its headquarters in Crewe as the brand looks to expand its model range.

Bentley is recruiting 90 new engineers and 51 apprentices as part of an £800 million investment over the next three years in new model and facility development.

Bentley sold 10,120 cars in 2013 and the company is working to a target of 15,000 sales by 2018.

The majority of the new apprentices will be part of a dedicated manufacturing scheme focused on strengthening core skills as Bentley builds up to the introduction of the Bentley SUV in 2016. The luxury brand has also committed to 90% of its model range being available with a plug-in hybrid option before 2020.

There are now nearly 4,000 people working at Bentley Crewe.
