Nationwide Accident Repair Services has won a competitive tender for a contract with Allianz Insurance worth around £10m annually.

Nationwide, the UK's largest bodyshop group, will be one of two preferred suppliers to Allianz for vehicle accident repair and repair management services across the UK.

The contract starts immediately and is estimated to be worth approximately £10 million per annum.

Under the terms of the agreement, Allianz will use a range of Nationwide's vehicle repair services which include mobile and specialist glass services, courtesy vehicles as well as bodyshop-based repairs.

Nationwide's Network Services Division will manage the deployment of the vehicle repairs.

The contract follows Allianz's decision to consolidate its supply chain in order to gain operational efficiencies and provide enhanced customer experience.

Paul Ashton of Allianz Insurance said: "Following many months of customer research and analysis, the further consolidation of the Allianz repair network comes as a result of changing industry dynamics, increasing regulatory demands and a growing customer base."

Michael Wilmshurst, chief executive of Nationwide, said: "Allianz's initiative is a progressive step and with our national network, common technology platform and skilled and committed team, we believe that we can help to deliver efficiency gains and first class services.

"We look forward to supporting Allianz in its objective to create an efficient, customer-friendly integrated vehicle repair service."
