The aftersales team at car dealer Charters Peugeot in Aldershot has invested in two machines which enable them to offer an engine deep clean service.

The site has been equipped with two EDT machines which cleans petrol or diesel engines with an environmentally friendly solution.

Arron Brown, general service manager at Charters Peugeot, said: “The EDT machine brings a healthy profit into the business and builds value into our customer relationships.

"We took one and because it did so well we got another one. There’s almost no cost to it. All we have to do is sell the benefits. The fuel saving in particular seems to hit home. Most customers immediately notice a difference – one told me his old estate had never driven better.”

Charters charges £99 for the engine deep clean and makes around £50 profit on each job, Brown said.

EDT said the engine deep clean can improve fuel economy and power output and reduce emissions. Since its UK launch in 2013, EDT said, its machines have generated more than £750,000 in additional sales for franchised dealers including Inchcape, Sandicliffe and Hendy Group.
