The former brand director of Seat UK, Neil Williamson, has been appointed chief executive of Jardine Motors.

Current CEO Mark Herbert is to move to a role in Asia with parent company Jardine Matheson Group on completion of a handover to Williamson in July.

Williamson (pictured) was previously managing director of Mercedes-Benz Retail Group and after a spell as vice president Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars in South Africa joined Seat in 2013.

Herbert has been with Jardine Motors Group for the past eight years. He was finance director until group chief executive Alun Jones announced his retirement in December 2012. He remains a non-executive director.

In the last two years turnover has increased from £1.327 million to £1.388m and profit before tax from £2.394m to £12.232m.
