A service and repair contractor working on behalf of BMW Wollaston was caught out by telematics technology after driving over 90mph in a customer car.

According to the Northampton Chronicle & Echo, the customer was asked why he had been driving his BMW 320D at illegal speeds by his employer after the company got an automatic alert to say it was being driven over the speed limit.

The driver explained the car was with the BMW garage for a handbrake repair.

The BMW was driven over 90mph on three occasions.

BMW Wollaston, part of the William Morgan Group, apologised to the customer for the actions of the contractor and said it “would treat any situation like this extremely seriously”.
