Work is underway to develop an energy-efficient new showroom for Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Leeds.

The new facility, being built at the corner of Gelderd Road and Leeds City Ring Road, is expected to be completed in summer 2016 after a 30-week programme of works carried out by Knottingley-based Caddick Construction.

The business will be making the short move from its current base on Hunslet Road, Leeds.

Built to Vauxhall’s latest CI guidelines, the 2,000sq-ft showroom will boast an energy efficient BREEAM Rating upon completion thanks to the incorporation of low energy lighting, high efficiency heat pumps to deal with heating and cooling of the showroom.

Photovoltaics on the roof, meanwhile, will contribute to 10% of the business’ energy requirement.

Steve Eley, national franchise director for Evans Halshaw Vauxhall, told bdaily.co.uk: “Providing a great customer experience is our number one priority and the perfect car buying environment is a key part of this.

“We have a great customer base in Leeds and are proud to be making this significant investment in the region. Our 70-strong team are really excited to see the finished article and share it with our customers.”

Evans Halshaw is a division of the Pendragon group which already has a presence on Gelderd Roads, Leeds, with its Stratstone Mini and BMW showrooms, which were opened in October last year.
