Phoenix Mitsubishi is charging ahead with efforts to win new custom from the brand’s growing sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles – with the installation of six new rapid charge points.

Mitsubishi’s sales figures for February showed a 28% rise on the same month last year, driven by a 41% increase in sales of the Outlander PHEV.

In response to the vehicle’s growing popularity the Paisley dealership has upped its number of rapid charge points from two to eight.

Dealer Principal Dom D’Agostino said: “The success of the Outlander PHEV has spurred us on to have these extra charging points installed. There are only going to be more hybrids on the road so we want to be able to provide for our customers going forward.

“In the past, hybrid cars were seen as a bit different but now people are really embracing hybrid technology – it’s the way to go.”

The multi-award-winning Outlander PHEV has an all-electric range of 32.5 miles and an 2-litre petrol engine to deliver an anxiety-free combined driving range in excess of 500 miles.
