Panda Motors has taken on the MG franchise at its dealership in Swansea to sit alongside its Daihatsu, Proton and used car business.

Panda is owned by Robert Jones, a former chairman of Swansea City Football Club and the sales department is run by his son Anthony.

Anthony Jones said: “We were extremely taken with the overall value of the brand and the quality of the vehicles.”

The appointment of the franchise coincides with Panda’s 30th anniversary, a celebration Jones and his team will tie into the launch event in August.

Matthew Cheyne, MG head of sales and marketing,, said: “We are proud of the fact we have so many family-run dealerships like Panda as they are often well known in their area at the grass roots level and aren’t afraid to get out into their local community to put the product in front of customers.”
