Lancashire-based Bowker Motor Group has confirmed plans to reduce car servicing times and increase vehicle capacity with a new 30-ramp aftersales facility in Preston.

The Bowker Aftersales Centre will be the largest of its kind in North West. It will create over 30 new jobs over the next five years.

The centre will be built next to the existing Bowker BMW and Mini centres on a 6.5 acre site on Watery Lane in Preston formerly used by timber merchants Page and Taylor.

The seven-figure investment in the new aftersales centre will offer the latest servicing technology including machines that measures tyre tread instantly and wheel alignment in just 90 seconds - a first for the North West.

Bowker Motor Group aftersales director Jonathan Rogan (pictured) said: “The new facility has a simple focus on creating an even better aftersales experience for our customers.

“We’ll be able to combine our usual friendly advice with same-day servicing. And the increase in capacity will mean that appointments won’t always be necessary.

“We know our customers lead busy lives so we hope this additional flexibility will make a big difference.”

The new aftersales centre site takes the total footprint of Bowker Motor Group buildings on Preston docks to over 11 acres; including Bowker Mini, Bowker BMW and Bowker Motorrad.

Last year, Bowker Motor Group opened a new BMW Motorrad motorcycle dealership on Preston docks.

The 13,000 square feet building includes a ground floor showroom for more than 40 bikes.
