Pendragon has signed a data deal with Cap HPI.

The five-year deal will see Cap HPI’s valuation and vehicle provenance data integrated into Pendragon’s operations with the aim of improving efficiency and enhance the customer experience.

Malcolm Bailey, Pendragon’s business development director, said: “Pendragon recognises we live in a data-rich world.

“Sourcing the most accurate data in real time can drive down cost, drive up efficiency, and improve the customer’s experience. This deal will change the way we use data to drive our business forward.”

Wendy Swaine, head of retail for Cap HPI, said: “The partnership with Pendragon will see a full backfill of vehicle descriptive and provenance data in the Pinnacle DMS system. We are also working closely to ensure that any additional data sets and our new innovative products are used across the Pendragon business.”

In dealerships, point of sale will be configured with of new vehicle pricing, new vehicle data, and used values. Web-based data will be enhanced with vehicle descriptions and codes. Both Black Book and Gold Book information will be integrated across the business.

Vehicle provenance will be supported with vehicle ID check, HPI Check, Spec Check and full NMR investigation services.

Swaine said: “We are also developing consumer appraisal tools, territory planning and mapping services along with the core database cleansing across the entire group, both monitoring vehicle ownership and consumer address changes.

“Our ability to deliver such a broad ranging solution springs from the coming together of cap and hpi which has unlocked new ways of looking at the industry.” 

The improved data supply has been rolled out across all 198 dealerships.
