A Nissan open point at Dumfries has been filled with the appointment of family-run car dealer Crossflags.

The dealership is operating from a temporary facility on the site of a former petrol station off Huntingdon Road in the centre of the town until a permanent one is developed nearby.

Grant Williamson, director at Crossflags, which has been trading since 1971, said: “This deal brings back Nissan to the area once again. Nissan has an exciting range of products in the market. You just have to look at the amazing success of the Qashqai and the Juke – they are among the most popular models on the roads today. We expect them to sell extremely well in Dumfries and Galloway and the surrounding area.”

Williamson added: “Our new showroom has everything you would expect of a Nissan dealership. But we really believe in the Nissan brand so we are looking to invest in a top of the range showroom in the local area in the near future.
