A speedy new website has boosted online views by 12.5% and dealer leads from visitors by 14.5%, according to Motors.co.uk.

The new website makes use of React technology – also used by Facebook and Netflix – to provide a 44% improvement in speed over the previous version and has been optimised for mobiles devices to help visitors contact dealers on-the-go, the online listings specialist claims.

All the improvements seen so far have come in the space of just over a fortnight, following the new offering’s launch on November 29th.

Phill Jones, managing director at Motors.co.uk, said: “The investment in the new Motors.co.uk website highlights our commitment to continual innovation and challenging ourselves to improve car buying and selling for consumers and dealers.

“The new site is ruthlessly focussed on being faster, easier to use and mobile friendly so it meets modern consumer shopping habits.”

A statement issued by Motors.co.uk said that 66% of online consumers now access the site via a smartphone or tablet device, dictating the focus for development of the new website offering.

The redesigned user experience was created in consultation with AutoTrader.com, a Cox Automotive sister company.

Jones added: “We are delighted with the results we have seen so far and we will continue to monitor the new website’s performance closely as we anticipate a sharp rise in car searches following the festive season.

“Our new website, and the collaboration that has been needed to produce it, provides the platform for some very exciting product enhancements in 2017.”
