Carlos Ghosn, Nissan CEO, says it does not plan to follow the strategies of several rival carmakers which have announced partnerships lately.

Ghosn said the company is not considering any new alliances as it puts its focus on returning to profitability.

It puts it on a different footing to its existing alliance partner Renault, which is among several carmakers seeking partnerships to share costs and speed development of new technologies.

Others include Mitsubishi and PSA Peugeot Citroen, which recently announced an intention to work together in the future.
