Hartwell will donate £3,000 to the charity as well as encourage its customers at its Ford dealerships to donate £1 to JDRF. Ford is aiming to raise £100,000 for the charity before the end of the year.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition that causes the body’s own immune system to turn on itself and attack cells in the pancreas which produce insulin.

Sarah McCullough, head of corporate development for JDRF, said: “We are delighted to be joining in with Ford of Britain’s centennial celebrations and are grateful they have chosen to support JDRF.

Thank you to Hartwell for being one of the first dealerships to kick-start the campaign by raising a fantastic £3,000 for JDRF.

“I’m confident that we can work together with all of their dealerships to raise a significant amount of money for research to find the cure for type 1 diabetes and look forward to being part of this exciting partnership.”
