Honda has restarted production at its factory in Swindon.

Production at Honda’s UK plant was suspended for four months following a drop in demand for new cars due to the economic downturn. During the break, Honda has installed new equipment at the factory to increase efficiency.

Honda started what it called an “associate release programme” in which 1,300 members of staff at Swindon chose to leave. The remaining 3,400 employees are now back to work in Swindon.
