Nissan has added £1,000 to the planned entry price of its new city car, the Pixo, which goes on sale today.

The carmaker had aimed to launch the car with a basic specification Visia variant at £5,995.

However it is now priced £6,995, according to Nissan GB's consumer website. The mid trim Acenta and top-spec Tekna derivatives have also been increased by £1,000.
