Ian Plummer, managing director of Renault Retail Group (RRG), has been appointed as the new director of commercial operations for Renault UK.
Plummer replaces Len Curran and will take on sole responsibility for Renault’s UK sales network and franchising operations. He will also sit on the board of directors at Renault UK headed by managing director, Thierry Sybord.
Curran has been promoted to vice president, sales and marketing for India.
Plummer continues as managing director for RRG until September 1, when his successor will be announced.
Plummer has been MD at RRG for four years and has reorganised the group, leading it into profit. Within RRG, Plummer has also held the positions of general manager, regional general manager and divisional director prior to his appointment in 2006 as managing director. He has also worked at Renault SA in Paris with international roles covering marketing, after-sales and e-commerce.
Plummer said: “My experience as a retailer with RRG has proved invaluable and I now look forward to working with the whole Renault network, particularly at such an exciting time with the youngest product range in the market and as we approach the launch of the Z.E. electric vehicle range."
