Non-regulated dealers can now benefit from free IAR status, 30-day free insurance for customers and access to additional revenue through GAP and SMART insurance sales.

Insurethat has teamed up with minor damage specialists Smart Insurance to target the UK car trade in a joint initiative to help “smaller dealers compete with the big guys”.

Ben Lillywhite, insurethat’s director of sales, explained: “We’re giving dealers a package to drive sales and increase customer proposition, plus providing access to a lucrative new revenue stream not available to them until now.

“Our new programme provides dealers with free IAR status and attractive point of sale marketing material.

“To help car sales they can offer customers free 30-day GAP and SMART cover and benefit from healthy commissions simply by introducing their customers to us.

“Once the customer has purchased the vehicle, our friendly team of advisors contact the customer and compliantly offer them ongoing Smart Insurance or GAP insurances at attractive rates.”

Lillywhite said that the business had already garnered “a positive reaction”.

He added: “As well as helping non-regulated dealers, we are also working with FCA-regulated dealers to capture missed opportunity sales.”

Smart Insurance managing director, Mark Boote, said: “Thanks to this new partnership with insurethat, the smaller dealers can compete with the big guys and benefit from a simple way of gaining additional revenue by offering their customers a desirable product.”
