Labour MP Alan Johnson will be the guest speaker at this year’s Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI) annual dinner.

The event is held on Thursday 20 October in London.

Johnson was named as the head of Labour’s EU referendum campaign in June 2015 and has been Labour MP for Hull West and Hessle since the 1997 general election.

He served as Home Secretary from June 2009 to May 2010, and before that, he filled a wide variety of cabinet positions in both the Blair and Brown governments, including Health Secretary and Education Secretary.

RMI director Sue Robinson said, “Guests can look forward to an evening of fine dining and fantastic entertainment from 40’s Swing trio ‘The Polka Dots’, plus guest speakers, and the opportunity to network with fellow industry colleagues. We look forward to seeing you all there.”
