BCA’s 20-acre remarketing and logistics facility at Perry Barr was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham.

The day’s events included a special sale of vehicles which included the sale of a charity car donated by BCA with the £5,050 proceeds going to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

Following an introduction by Simon Henstock BCA ‘s chief operating officer UK Remarketing, the Lord Mayor, councillor Carl Rice, unveiled a plaque declaring the new BCA centre formally open for business before embarking on a tour of the facilities alongside other specially invited guests.

The Lord Mayor watched from the Rostrum as a car donated by BCA was sold to raise funds for the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal 2016/17, which supports a number of charities including Cancer Research UK and Fischer House UK. 

The 2012 Vauxhall Astra 1.4 16V 100 SRI in red sold for an exceptional £5,050 and was purchased by Trade Centre UK, which is soon to open a new 12 acre, 1,200 car site in the West Midlands.

Henstock said: “We were delighted to welcome The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Carl Rice to officially declare BCA Perry Barr open for business.

“Perry Barr offers a fantastic opportunity to grow our business as it offers much needed additional capacity in the Midlands alongside our thriving existing businesses at Castle Bromwich, Walsall and Wolverhampton.”

The remarketing facilities at Perry Barr include three auction lanes plus a state-of-the-art digital auction suite. 

There is undercover viewing for 450 vehicles, ample customer parking for over 400 vehicles, a restaurant, barista kiosk and business suites, and a full range of buyer services available in the Customer Concourse.  

The BCA Auction Services facility offers a full range of valeting and Smart Prepared services, appraisal-post valet, digital imaging bay and BCA Assured by the AA.

Henstock added: “As BCA is handling growing volumes of stock from both new and existing customers and attracting a wider buyer base, this additional capacity is vital. 

“This underlines why we are investing in our physical footprint, logistics, technology and process to deliver a comprehensive nationwide remarketing service across 24 locations and the digital space.”
