A new online platform aims to match car dealers with trading partners in an attempt to avoid auction fees.
A trio of former Manheim employees have teamed up to create the dealertrade.co.uk platform and claim that the free-to-use “online community” will save many traders around 10% of a vehicles’ price in fees.
Around 1,200 traders have already signed-up to the secure trading platform created by Dean Miles, Wayne Ryder and Simon Smiddy.
The system connects traders so they can trade in with each other as direct contacts, eliminating the costs which come with third party vehicle preparation, imaging and transportation.
“This facility is all about its members” said founder director Dean Miles; “we actively encourage them to build relationships so that more of their stock movements can happen with less need to visit the auction houses who can easily add up to 10% of the hammer price with all their fees and delivery charges”
“We want to make it easier for dealers to claw back some of their margins by exploring alternative routes to buy and sell”.
