Purchase Ledger Clerk required for maternity cover to accurately maintain all information relating to the financial transactions of the dealership, either via the computer or manually in accordance with the Company timetable and policy. To assist the Dealership Accountant to facilitate the smooth operation of the Company’s accounts functions. To process purchase ledger expense and purchase order invoices, reconcile to supplier statements and generate the payment run on a monthly basis.To process direct debit purchase ledger payments on to the purchase ledger. To check off and process the weekly fuel invoices for the group. To process taxing and general cheques. To reconcile Gap and warranty balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and to assist with other various balance sheet accounts as requested by the Dealership Accountant. To learn petty cash in order to provide cover when needed. To learn to cover the accurate processing of all Emac direct debit receipts, transfers and deposits. To include a full monthly reconciliation that agrees back to the Emac system and deal with any discrepancies. To assist with the expense audit files on a monthly basis, following the guidelines that have been provided by the auditors in preparation for the year end audit. To learn the sales ledger to ensure that the company has sufficient cover in the absence of the Sales Ledger Clerk and ensure that all queries in to the department via email or telephone are dealt with promptly. To fulfil any ad hoc duties in relation to the administration of the accounts department as may be required by the Dealership Accountant or her Assistant. To ensure that the tidiness and security of the accounts department are maintained and all quality records are maintained securely. To maintain own manner and appearance in order to present the best possible image. To ensure that all guidelines and regulations on health and safety are followed. To maintain good working relationships with all other staff and to provide cover for other staff in the department in the event of holiday and sickness. To carry out any further duties within capabilities when requested by management. These may include working outside normal hours. You must have excellent Excel skills and Motor Retail experience would be a definite advantage. Salary: 17k pa
