A consultancy firm delivering bespoke material handling solutions across the UK is seeking to upgrade their aftersales service. This is an opportunity for a business minded mechanical engineer to develop and grow such a service.
Poor service equals a poor product
During my meeting with the MD we discussed his car. Despite having a premium brand vehicle, he expressed his frustration about the length of time any minor service took. He is attempting for the opposite to be the case with his already well-regarded service.
This role will be about three areas. You will be providing an efficient and responsive spares service; an effective after sales service with good take up rates; and continuing contact with customers to encourage repeat business.
You will need to understand mechanical engineering. Perhaps you will have served an apprenticeship or studied to an appropriate level. You must be able to appreciative CAD information to determine spares requirements. You will also need to be able to handle data and databases.
You must also be able to build relationships and understand what clients are needing. As the intermediary between several parties you will be coordinating repair and delivery, and sometime attending site
