12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, working with an accountant and a trainee accountant will provide accounts support to them both. Role Purpose: To assist Accountant and Trainee Accountant with maintaining an effective control environment of the Corporate Sales sites in London, Birmingham and Manchester. To provide accurate and timely Management information and reconciliation of key Balance Sheet accounts. Key accountabilities: To support in controlling and maintaining the integrity of the Corporate Release process. Processing of Purchase and raising Sales Invoices, Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet nominal ledger Reserve accounts including investigation. Monthly depreciation of fixed asset and demo deprecation. Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet stock accounts to VSB. Clearing the ‘VSB PL Contra’ account and ensuring old items are investigated and cleared in a timely manner. Reconciliation of any other balance sheet rec’s for Management Accounts file. Downloading Final Stock and Balance sheet accounts for reconciliation. Assist in Compiling Year end tax packs and P11D expense analysis Provide cover for Accounts team or other administration functions as required. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the Accountant and other financial functions as required. Internal control responsibilities: For all aspects of your responsibilities, you are responsible for ensuring that the company policy and procedures are complied with. In addition, your are required to ensure that appropriate controls are operated, insofar as they are with in your control, so as to reasonably mitigate known risks which could lead to inaccurate financial reporting. If you are aware of significant risks not in your power to control, please escalate the matter in the first instance. Financial reporting: For your areas of responsibility, you are required to ensure that all data and calculations processed that have a bearing in financial accounts in accordance with company policies and procedures. Where you become aware of any inaccurate data, you are required to notify your manager in the first instance. Key Skills, Knowledge and experience, Previous motor trade experience essential, Knowledge of Kerridge 8.3 software preferred, Strong administration skills, Strong Microsoft Excel Skills, Numerate, Accurate with strong attention to detail. Enthusiastic with a desire to learn all aspects of the accounting / admin function. Ability to work to tight dead deadlines, Good communication skills
