Objectives of the role:
To develop and agree Sales Plans and Budgets, including New Car, Accessories, Used Car, Overheads and all related items which will successfully achieve sales and other targets.
To provide support to ensure all Sales Plans and Budgets are exceeded and all marketing, sales and financial targets are achieved.
To contribute to the smooth running of the centre, including managing all sales related operating and administrative policies and procedures.
To manage and support the sales team, including motivating staff, shaping individual and team development and effectively managing performance.
Develop and agree Sales Plans and Budgets with the General Manager.
Assess and monitor sales pipelines and develop forecasts, operating expense and capital budgets.
Communicate plans and budgets with sales team.
Create and agree Motivation and Commission Plans for the sales team to promote the achievement of sales targets.
Manage and organise sales team activities to ensure maximum time for direct selling and ensure effective handling of all activity related to sales.
Provide guidance and training to the sales team to improve their job performance in terms of prospecting and customer follow-up, sales presentation and closing, time management and product knowledge.
Establish and manage a stream-lined prospecting system of records and smooth-running administrative procedures for follow-up call records, management meetings, sales analysis and trading policies.
Set individual and team expectations and ensure maximum engagement, commitment and motivation.
Drive, recommend and initiate personnel action for the sales team including promotions, transfer, discharges, discipline and recruitment.
Develop and interpret company policies to ensure any problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Proven sales experience. A consistent track recording of selling over a number of years. A good understanding of strong selling propositions and barriers to purchase.
Excellent leadership and management skills. Natural leadership capability and a strong, confident personality.
A team player who enjoys working with people and providing support when it is required.
The ability to direct and guide a team of people with varying levels of experience.
