Position: Sales Manager
Location: Brighton Volkswagen
Hours of Work:
8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday (4 days)
9:00am to 5:00pm Saturday
Closing Date: Sunday 14th February 2016
Main Purpose of Job:
To ensure the efficient running and profitability of the branch’s sales department. To be responsible for supervising all sales operations at the branch. To implement company and manufacturer procedures where necessary as agreed with the General Manager and which are within company policies.
Objectives and Key Tasks:
To be responsible to the General Manager for monitoring the performance of the sales department at the branch.
To be responsible for the setting and agreeing the annual sales budget for the branch with the Branch Manager and to ensure that the budgets and targets are met and where possible exceeded.
To help negotiate annual sales targets with the Manufacturer.
To be responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the sales department by establishing and agreeing with the Branch Manager such procedures and standards which meet the objectives of a high level of Customer Satisfaction, profitability and satisfies both manufacturer and company.
To be responsible for ensuring that the company’s and manufacturer’s new and used car stocking parameters are met.
To be responsible for ensuring that the company’s investment in resources is fully utilised and to advise the Branch Manager when and if further investment may be necessary.
To be responsible to the General Manager for maximising the sales and profitability through the sales department of new franchise vehicles and of used cars and trade cars through market research and analysis.
To monitor the sales performance of the sales department and advise the General Manager of “fall down” areas, to recommend improvements and to ensure that agreed improvements are implemented.
To make sure that all paperwork for Head Office and the manufacturer is completed correctly and on time.
Through constant monitoring to ensure that the sales department does not exceed Head Office set stock levels. To ensure that 100% used car yield is achieved throughout the sales department and that no over-aged vehicles are on stock.
To maintain a close working relationship with manufacturer’s staff. To be fully conversant with their sales policies and procedures.
