Workshop Controller - Volkswagen Scunthorpe

The Role

We are seeking a qualified Workshop Controller to join Marshall Motor Group’s Volkswagen dealership in Scunthorpe and assist in providing a high quality and efficient service for our customers. The main purpose of your role will be to effectively allocate resources to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Actively retain all available business by consulting and co-operating with reception staff and Managers
  • Achieve all sales and profit objectives for the department under Line Manger’s instruction and guidance
  • Ensure stock levels are effectively controlled
  • Work with colleagues to identify potential customers and additional business
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all department administrations and operational processes complying at all times with dealership and manufacturer reporting policies
  • Achieve all Group, Manufacturer and Statutory Legislation objectives and operate within the law at all times
  • Contribute to a department marketing strategy to promote all products and services
  • Plan ahead and manage time efficiently to ensure all tasks are achieved
  • Greet customers and visitors promptly, courteously and professionally
  • Assist line manager to brief the team regarding business objectives and give regular feedback on achievements
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all customers, dealership colleagues, suppliers and external representatives

Required Skills and Experience

You will be a Level 3 qualified vehicle technician with a full UK driving licence, ideally with experience within a Jaguar Land Rover dealership, although this isn’t essential. In addition to your prior experience, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Excellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • A strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Outstanding organisation and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
