Our client is a highly successful marketing agency whose clients include leading automotive brands. They now seek an Account Director to cover automotive accounts, including a market leading car manufacturer and an iconic motorcycle brand. Their client briefs cover a wide scope of activity, with an emphasis on CRM database management and numerous software applications used across EMEA. There is a great team in place who need a strong AD experienced in managing data led marketing to help lead client development and oversee ongoing requirements.
Mainly B2C clients; particularly bikes/automotive with particular emphasis on database marketing, CRM and Aftersales programmes.
Purpose of Job:
To work within agency processes to be the senior contact for a diverse number of clients; to develop new client opportunities against sales targets and work strategically to add value to campaign planning.
Provide account direction and demonstrate tangible added value in order to maximise client satisfaction and in doing so grow account revenue and profitability in line with targets
Build strong client relationships to ensure account growth and development. Expand client contacts within each client to maximise new development opportunities
Manage and develop a team of Account Handlers
Tight budget control of client activity, agree and manage budgets, deliver profit targets, prepare detailed quotes for all new work
Ability to write both strategic and tactical proposals, through awareness of trends in relevant market sectors
Database Marketing experience, ideally including database and software solution development in a previous role. Able to communicate and ‘sell in’ marketing CRM and e-CRM strategy as well as tactical programmes.
Ideally experience in the automotive industry or with automotive clients, although experience of developing strategic database marketing proposals and campaign implementation more critical.
Visibility of having worked up through the ranks of client facing account roles such as Account Executive and Account Manager in order to reach Account Director potential
Experience of data management at a strategic level; able to guide clients on best practice and propose appropriate solutions
Experience of managing print production and digital comms
Proven track record of successful client management and account development
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Must have proven experience in developing and writing ‘sales’/business development proposals/ presentations
Strong leadership skills – proven track record of effective personnel/team motivation and management
