Our client is a leading London marketing agency. They are now seeking an Account Director to join their team working on an automotive manufacturer account.
The automotive manufacturer’s account is one of the largest clients in the agency. The agency delivers all the Retail communications campaigns and works with the manufacturer’s partner agencies to deliver integrated campaigns. The role is to be part of a large lively team working with a progressive and successful client who is looking to constantly evolve their communications.
We are looking for an experienced, business focused and results driven Account Director to join the team to run an important and growing part of the business for them.
The role contains two main responsibilities:
1) National retail communications: On a quarterly basis the manufacturer develops or revises their retail offers. The agency develops or updates a suite of retail comms typically: National Press, Radio, Online and dealer versions of all plus some dealer POS and collateral as necessary.
2) Managing and delivering the Dealer Marketing team: The manufacturer provides their Dealer network with a comprehensive suite or marketing services for providing marketing material templates e.g. Press ads, Digital, POS, DM, EDM to broader marketing support like territory analysis or data purchasing. Most of this is delivered through a dedicated portal supported by an agency team.
This role requires:
The oversee and management of dealer marketing service
Ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of delivery
Periodic visits to dealers
The ideal candidate:
Must have a proven track record performing at Account Director level
Must have Automotive Dealer marketing experience
A great understanding of the dealer dynamic and automotive dealer marketing
Must have people management experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and motivate a team
An enthusiastic approach and a ‘can-do’ attitude are key along with a track record of exceeding expectations/overcoming obstacles to deliver results
A good integrated / BTL understanding ideally with retail experience
Good creative understanding of how to deliver good ideas across multiple media including channels we don’t have total control over e.g. Dealer environment
Strong client relationship skills ideally demonstrated through references
Good interpersonal skills and committed to developing team
