Our client is a full-service advertising and marketing communications agency which prides itself on being insightful, original thinking with very high standards. Clients, a mix from both the public and private sectors, range in size from small businesses.
They are now seeking a field based Dealer Marketing Manager to work with the dealers across the UK of one of their Automotive Manufacturer clients. This role would suit someone with strong experience working in an automotive dealer marketing role – probably with either an agency, dealer or manufacturer. The candidate will need to be located centrally within the UK and be prepared to travel long distances.
The Dealer Marketing Manager (“DMM”) serves to strategize and execute (at the dealer level) marketing programmes that further the brand sales targets. This position will leverage National and Global brand awareness tactics and convert interest into true consideration and, ultimately, ensure that the vehicles are on the target consumer’s shopping list.
The DMM primary accountabilities fall into three key areas:
Develop customer awareness and drive showroom traffic
Assist the dealerships with planning and identify local marketing opportunities
Drive dealerships to promote within the agreed local target area
Dealer CRM activity
Customize events, promotions and advertising to meet target audience
Develop trusted relationships with key dealership personnel
Identify local partnership opportunities
Dealership Support, Activity & Metrics
Assist the dealerships with marketing plans in key areas: advertising, events, CRM, etc.
Encourage dealer to have greater focus digital marketing activities – less reliance on local press
Identify and assist the dealer to implement product placement and other off site activity
Interrogate the dealership databases, data-capture and lead handling processes to identify opportunities Work with dealer management & HO to consider wider business issues, secure buy-in and support Ensure all dealers buy-in to HO initiatives and implement effectively
Liaise with the manufacturer’s Field Team, ensuring their buy-in and endorsement of dealer activity Educate and coach dealers in the importance of lead management and brand guidelines.
Continually challenge and introduce new ides within the dealer plans.
Communicate all HO initiatives to the dealer network.
Work with dealer facing team to identify requirements for missing assets that will help deliver sales targets.
Work as brand guardian at all times.
Ensure proper usage of logos, fonts, signage and corporate messaging
Ensure brand consistency, POS display/materials and dynamics in each showroom.
Where applicable, ensure coordination of national & local PR with dealer advertising activity.
The ideal candidate is likely to possess the following qualifications / experience:
- Extensive experience in automotive brand and product marketing, either with a dealer or agency.
- Strong campaign management experience and skills, ideally from an agency background,
- Detailed knowledge of the marketing process and an understanding of data profiling and niche targeting
- Ability to coach, support and develop key dealer staff.
- Ability to mix confidently with all levels of dealership and HO staff,
- Demonstrates drive to achieve outstanding results,
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels,
- Strong self-starter who can work effectively independently,
- Highly organised with excellent admin and IT skills,
- Degree in relevant subject is desirable
As a field role, full clean UK compliant driving licence and willingness and ability to travel extensively across the UK & Northern Ireland
