37 hours per week to be worked between 08.00 hours - 17.00 hours. There maybe occasions where you will be required to work outside of office hours.
Essex Police are looking to recruit an experienced, commercially aware engineering manager, to be responsible for the day to day management and performance of the Main Service and Repair Workshop and the New Vehicle equipping facility, based at Boreham, Essex.
This new position represents an exciting and challenging opportunity for an individual, who will report directly to the Engineering Operations Manager and will have direct responsibility for the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Engineering Services facility within the Transport Services Department.
The successful candidate will ensure that the highest engineering standards are maintained and will use their considerable knowledge and commercial experience to manage staff, budgets and resources to best effect, driving efficiencies and cost savings as a priority during this particularly challenging financial climate. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite as is the proven ability to motivate staff.
This is a key post within the Transport Services management team and the candidate will be technically qualified to BTEC or above and a corporate member of IRTE, CIT, or must be able to evidence that they have the knowledge and experience to perform the role. Experience as an automotive engineering manager within the commercial or public sector is an essential requirement.
