We are currently recruiting a highly professional and dynamic General Sales Manager to drive performance at our Mercedes Benz dealership in Peterborough.

The successful candidate must have considerable and proven experience within a managerial role.  Experience of managing an effective sales process and exceeding sales targets and objectives is essential. Experience of selling financial services would also be desirable.
This will be a key role within the business and you will be responsible for developing new business, increasing the business profitability and driving staff to deliver results and provide excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day sales activities, including monitoring prospecting, ensuring the Group sales process is adhered to and managing the sales administration activities.

Additional duties include :

  • To develop and maintain an effective relationship with the DCS Business Manager to deliver planned F&I penetration and income
  • Plan, organise, direct, coach and motivate the Sales Team
  • Maintain company standards and controls
  • Ensure the used car range is presented professionally in line with Mercedes-Benz guidelines and represents the appropriate stock mix, competitively priced
  • Used cars are traded-in professionally using the approved appraisal system
  • To ensure all reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • To control preparations costs and standards by working closely with the Aftersales and General Sales Manager
  • The length of time vehicles remain at the dealership and associated costs are monitored regularly and car prices adjusted accordingly to achieve a stock turn of 10
  • New target groups are acquired systematically through ongoing analysis of advertising effectiveness, cold prospecting (telephone calls, mail initiatives etc.), local advertising/promotional events and other techniques that the Sales Manager may deem profitable
  • Agreed sales targets are monitored with everyone involved on a regular reviewed basis
