Our client is an automotive manufacturer who is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth and development.


Job Purpose

A dedicated product/corporate PR manager to handle day-to-day PR within the automotive industry – proactively seeking all opportunities to maintain and grow momentum for the brand within the automotive media world

Key Responsibilities


Act as main point of contact at the manufacturer for automotive/trade media and respond to requests for information regarding the manufacturer’s products accurately and promptly
Create and implement PR initiatives in line with UK strategy, which support new product launches and maintain interest for existing product line-up
Create press materials and resources and ensure existing materials are kept up-to-date
Strategically and proactively manage the press fleet (in conjunction with Media Relations Manager) to ensure best possible value
Ensure that Brand and Products are positioned for Industry awards
Manage Dealer PR programme
Create and implement PR initiatives to increase the manufacturer’s share of voice in the fleet media.
Keep up to date with current affairs, especially those involving the motor industry, and identify areas of opportunity and threat for the manufacturer
Continually build strong relationships with the manufacturer’s key agencies


Responsibility for preparing briefing materials and Company statements relating to industry issues - working with Head of PR
Crisis management
Maintain and enhance the reputation of the manufacturer within the Industry through verbal and written communications
Represent the Company at Motor Shows and manage media interview schedules

Person Specification

Experience in a PR role in the automotive sector
Good existing relationships within the automotive industry and media
Team player
Excellent writing abilities
Flexible approach to working hours
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Confidence in dealing with colleagues at all levels
Well developed news sense
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in writing and orally
