An automotive manufacturer is seeking a Regional Marketing Manager to join them in a field based role. You will need a background in automotive retail marketing with either a dealer, an agency or a manufacturer.
You will be the main contact point between the retailer network and the manufacturer’s Marketing Department.
The role is field based covering the South of England and South Wales – south of the M4. You will work with the dealers in your region advising them on all aspects of their local marketing and visiting each dealer on a regular basis.
Responsibilities will include:
Ensuring that each retailer has a valid overall Marketing Plan for the year with a detailed plan for each quarter including all elements of the marketing mix.
To work closely with the retailer network in developing and implementing ideas and initiatives to promote the retailer to the public through events and promotions
To work closely with the retailers in developing press and lifestyle PR.
To provide an advisory service as a marketing specialist to the retailer network; providing answers and ideas to problems in an innovative and creative way.
Ensure that all POS is displayed appropriately. Provide an advisory role in developing local POS as required.
To develop marketing launch plans for new retailers.
Policing of the network to ensure that retailer’s advertising follows corporate guidelines
Working with the Media agency to ensure good placement and competitive rates
The successful candidate will have experience in automotive retail marketing gained either in the field, with an automotive retailer or in a marketing agency. You will have a strong understanding of retail marketing functions – across the whole marketing mix. You will need excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop business relationships from board level down.
You will need to be able to take on a field based role which will involve working on your own initiative and covering long distances.
