The role

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the MG Motor Sales & Marketing team for a Regional Operations Manager for the Northern Region of the MG Dealer network. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the Sales objectives of MG Motor are achieved through a robust Dealer Network that effectively represents the brand and, through its Aftersales activities, provides Quality Customer Service

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to monitor regional sales, registrations and market share to ensure compliance with plan and provide this information on a real time basis to MG HQ. You will be required to produce robust dealer visit reports and work to a prescribed visit agenda.

The role will require you to set and agree annual/calendarised dealer sales targets for your region. Developing current dealers against set objectives and building up individual Dealer representation files is essential to the success of this role. Making recommendations for the recruiting and appointing of New Dealers, in line with Franchise Standards and MG Motors’ representation requirements is also a requirement of this role.

You will ensure that technical issues which are unresolved by Dealers are addressed and escalated though the Technical Help Desk where necessary. You will be fully capable of ensuring compliance with Minimum Standards programmes- Sales and Aftersales and have the ability to monitor dealer financial viability based on their annual and monthly management accounts and/or information from an IFC type comparison.

You will be required to provide MG HQ with an annual performance assessment of each regional dealer and a full customer interface where necessary, in order to resolve customer complaints and escalate in a controlled manner where appropriate.

The successful candidate will be skilled at building an effective working relationship with allocated dealers in a manner that shows a mutual understanding of the Business issues faced by the Franchise.You will also manage and coordinate regional dealer meetings – utilise the expertise and knowledge at MG HQ to provide support.

Finally, you will be the MG Champion for the region – take ownership and responsibility for ensuring that dealers are aware of their responsibilities to deliver the MG business objectives

The Person

All applicants must be able to demonstrate proven success within an automotive sales role. The successful candidate will have strong planning and negotiation skills. We are looking for an individual who has energy and enthusiasm for the role, together with passion for the MG brand. The role is predominately field based with extensive travel, frequent dealer visits within Region will be required. Attendance at meetings at Head Office is also required.
