Exciting and challenging opportunity for a Software Development Manager to join an expanding, web-based software service provider based near Leeds, who are the market leaders in their segment.

You will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of IT changes, applications support services and technical solution paths and strategies. To enable ongoing development of the system.

You will lead the development team managing design, development and maintenance of the software solution.

The Software Development Manager will be required to take responsibility for the management of quality activities over the full development cycle and will therefore be expected to have experience of developing QA principles/strategies within an IT function, involvement in QA inspections and audits and strong leadership skills.

You will lead 14 staff comprising of developers, analysts, system testers and support staff, where you will be expected to manage all aspects of the team including annual appraisals and training, on going feedback and motivation, mentoring and issue resolution. You will directly report to the company directors.

Essential experience: at least 5 years proven experience of software development management, web based applications and internet architecture, CRM and/or Sales Lead Management, Enterprise architectures, Project management (preferably PRINCE2), Systems Analysis and Design, excellent verbal and written communication.

Non essential experience: UML, Retail sector (motor industry would be an added bonus).
