The Role

Due to the continuous growth, there is now an exciting opportunity for a Trainer / Assessor to join the business. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver technical and vocational training to apprentices on independent and manufacturer programmes. In addition, you will be required to support the wider SPX business aims e.g. technical writing or vehicle analysis work where necessary.

Key duties will include, but not be limited to:

Planning & delivering technical training and Functional Skills.
Planning, implementing and managing welfare and learner review visits.
Planning, managing and assessing candidate progress.
Monitoring processes for the update of operational and management reports.
Supporting the Business Development Team (BDT) with in-company inductions.
Invigilating classroom based tests and electronic on-line testing.
Monitoring Continual Professional Development (CPD) training / courses to stay abreast of ever changing market specific processes / legislation

The Candidate

To be successful in this role, we require an experienced Assessor with at least 2 years experience within a similar role. You should have a comprehensive knowledge of the motor industry and motor vehicle technology. Working in a professional manner, you will contribute to SPXs internal Quality Assurance processes and procedures at all times. You should be able to prioritise and manage your own time and resources and be prepared to be flexible towards travel within the UK and Scotland.

Successful candidates must have:

A relevant industry qualification to a minimum level 3.
A1 Assessor award (or be working towards this).
Familiarity with MS Office Packages.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired knowledge/ skills;
Excellent presentation and Management skills.
V1 verifier award or a teaching qualification.
Knowledge of other specialist areas such as light/ heavy vehicles, motorcycles, vehicle refinishing/ body repair etc.
