Franchised dealers can sign up for a support programme which Castrol says will help grow service business for older cars.

Dealers will be able to offer their customers Service Rewards in return for regular car maintenance business.

Motorists who join Service Rewards pay a £25 sign-up fee which is refunded at their next service at any workshop which is participating in the initiative.

The scheme provides discounts on services plus features such as free vehicle evaluations, a certificate of good maintenance as an incentive to prospective buyers when the car is eventually sold, and a Castrol Labcheck which can detect potential engine problems.
